It takes SOMETHING, to be that SOMEONE...

To be ‘a someone’, is actually not a bad place to be in. You can do things that you have never thought of doing, and even if you did not succeed, no one would care about your casualty. Probably, you have to keep trying until either: ·          You are good at it, or ·          You are just bored of it. ‘To do’ is to observe; ‘to observe’ is to understand and ‘to understand’ is to take one step ahead!               Keep moving until you reach a road with no footprints on it. You will surely think of making that U-turn… but No, you have to be positive. But, WHAT IF a wolf kills you ahead; WHAT IF a car hits you; WHAT IF you die! You could be that someone.                               So, keep moving until you reach a road with no footprints on ...

If charity begins at home, what is more important - Satisfying oneself or satisfying others?

MAYBE, YOU’D BE BEING SELFISH, OR MAYBE YOU’D BE FULFILLING YOUR DESTINY. AND BY DOING THAT, BY SERVING YOURSELF, YOU BEGIN TO SERVE YOUR SELF – TO THE WORLD . Being selfish is the riskiest trait that one could have. Society would not accept you with open arms and rather will try to change you. The lives of Albert Einstein and Henry Ford, who listened to their hearts, were not at all easy. Moreover, most of the people surrounding their lives did not do any good to actuate them. One needs to have that something special  ( read " It takes something to be that someone " )   to deal with a difficult circumstance, for dealing with the society is not a cakewalk. It is not that ‘selfishness’ is a quality trait that one must have, but also in today’s materialistic society, one is ought to be lured to his own happiness instead of satisfying the world around him. Greed, however, is a stronger word and just like ‘being selfish’, people naturally have this (selfish)...

Thank you, Papa. You taught me to speak up against evil, the hard way.

There are times when I see my female friends on the roads and in the bars at night. Brave, they are! Where I am quietly hiding inside my 3 BHK apartment with my parents, after 6 in the evening, my friends beg me to accompany them to the nearby club. Maybe something is wrong with the clothes they wear shamefully, expecting me to dress up the same. “Sorry, I can’t”, I told them. My parents would not be able to see me like that. I once saw my friend kiss another boy when she was dating her boyfriend since last 4 long months. I won’t lie; I called her a ‘slut’ in my mind and thought of never befriending such assholes. Earlier, I did not know why I never broke the shackles of my introversion. Also, I did not know why I never followed my friends to the bar. When my friend was abducted from the streets last week, my father came into my room and gently spoke, “This is the reason why we always tell you to not go out after 6. I cannot let you go out of my life.” Now, I know the reaso...

You are the Change

John’s mother asks him as to where did he get his expensive shoes from? John had shoplifted that day. However, he tells her mother that a friend gifted him those. Mother somehow guessed that John has stolen the pair and tells him that she knows the truth and that he may fool the world but not himself… Nice story with a certain moral value. It is not John’s mother, but John himself who is being fooled, maybe not now but in his future endeavors. Why this story is important? ... Because I believe we all become John for one or the other thing in life, many a times. But what is worse is that most of us do not know that! Nichiren Daishonin , a form of Buddhist practice focuses on the law of action and it consequences. According to their belief, it is only our actions or in-actions that are responsible for the consequences in life and they believe in it with full heart and passion. However, one’s perception of an ideal future, that he wants to see in the world, is amazingly diffe...

It is good to cry

Sometimes I wonder as to what is it that we really want? - Is it Money? - Or, is it Recognition? - Or, is it something more than that? We were told that howsoever bad situations may become, it will all end sometime, someday. Maybe it is just about to end, you never know!         Why are we working so hard? Why is it that you are reading this? Why is it that people love to hear from someone they admire? Why are we doing things? Everybody knows that they WILL die, then “why so serious”? Am I the only one who cares about my future and my ‘potential’ family, which I have no idea of at this juncture? It is fairly possible that humans were coded to be an ‘animal’ (like a dog) to their master. A human-dog that is capable of depicting sense and emotion and care for its future. Though, we successfully evolved (from a dog) into a human. But you know, a dog remains a dog! I think that humans, today, are still faithful to their respec...

A Child's Perception

Running away is an easier game… “Deal with situations”, they said… It does not matter if you already know your life is screwed. There’s a rat hiding somewhere in the corner of the house, knowing that there is a cat ready to eat it as soon as it finds it. Jerry never gave up, why are you? It does not matter if you already know that you shall quit. There’s a cat jumping, chasing, fighting, and bleeding after a little mouse, but all its efforts in vain. New day, New hopes – they say. Tom never quit, why are you? It does not matter if you already know that you will end up without a partner. There’s an individual who starts his day, trying hard to find a girlfriend for him. Though, I would not advocate for the kind of effort he makes. But, Johnny Bravo never thought of ending up alone, why are you? It does not matter if you already know that your friends embarrass you, when in public. There’s a person whose friend always lets him down when he really need...

I do not see any smiling faces in a Metro

Half-past seven in the evening… “Time to leave the office premises”, I thought.           I admit, it infuriates me a lot to sit on a revolving-chair gazing through the screen of my laptop. It amazes me sometimes, how do they even manage to think of creating such a technological artifact? However, I too cannot deny that the relic has made me worry more, and love my life less. Wondering as to whether the motive of creating such a masterpiece was to make our lives easier , I entered one of the automatic gates of a Metro train and swiftly glanced over my "Metro-mates" which somehow made me answer the above question aptly- that, no doubt, it was created to make our lives easier but, " I Don’t See Any Smiling Faces In a Metro ". Considering the time at which I left my office to be the same time at which majority working chunk left their offices (in New Delhi), makes it highly probable that I am right now travelling with all the fellow "virtual-scr...
