-Do you believe in god ?
-No, I’m an atheist. I only believe in things I can see.
-No, I’m an atheist. I only believe in things I can see.
Well I bet you might have heard it from someone’s mouth or
maybe from your own.
This
actually sounds practical, modern and cool too “Mom I’ve told you many times, I
don’t believe in all this”.
Being an atheist or not is not the question here, but why do I see more people now expressly denying their “God fearing abilities”. How dare they? I mean that’s the one and only thing that we Indians are GREAT at doing unanimously – Fearing God.
It isn’t the Gods who make our thoughts bewilder, but rather
the fear of dying has made us beseech the idols for our long life (with even
longer monetary figures, of course!). The Idols no doubt have supernatural
power, I have seen it myself – The power
of attracting money.
No one can deny the fact that our motherland is the most
enriched soil, when it comes to the “o(g)res
of superstition”. The framers of our constitution in 1949 encrypted a very
solid religion which was to be followed by one and all, known as “No Religion”. That means everyone is
free to follow any religion they like.
In a country like India where an adult girl is not even
considered ‘eligible’ enough to freely move around her compound (also read "What's Wrong with Indian Women? - Nothing") , freedom is merely a word, the roots of which can be
seen dwindling only in stagnant water.
The problem is not with the thought behind atheism, but with
the people who consider that this thought is not even worth considering.
Atheism is considered as against the order of nature. An atheist is generally
considered to be against God, and that’s where the problem arises. Atheists DO NOT have any quarrel with god, but
with people who are so fondly in love with their almighty that they are unable
to recognize their own master, and instead follow the dubious instructions of
the elephantine bellied pundits, qazis
etc. who reflect themselves as the ‘privileged
link’ between God and his creatures.
Different folks have different opinions, India is a diverse
nation after all. Religion is one such topic which seems stuck at one point (somewhere
back in time). Masses may have developed, but the practicality…..I’m not sure.
The more you seem to penetrate into the topic the more you are hated.
Hatred ignites anger,
and anger my friend, can do wonders! Bloodshed, Assassinations, Massacres are some of them. When
a child is born he is not an atheist neither is he a theist but the practicality
of the surroundings can very well compel an individual to deny the belief in
superstition. Wars have been fought on the name of religion, but sadly it is the
humanity who at the end loses. But if there is a God, atheism must seem to him
as less of an insult than religion.
Probably
because we have one less excuse to start wars.
