The Gods must be Crazy

-Do you believe in god ?
-No, I’m an atheist. I only believe in things I can see.

Well I bet you might have heard it from someone’s mouth or maybe from your own.

This actually sounds practical, modern and cool too “Mom I’ve told you many times, I don’t believe in all this”.

Being an atheist or not is not the question here, but why do I see more people now expressly denying their “God fearing abilities”. How dare they? I mean that’s the one and only thing that we Indians are GREAT at doing unanimously – Fearing God.

It isn’t the Gods who make our thoughts bewilder, but rather the fear of dying has made us beseech the idols for our long life (with even longer monetary figures, of course!). The Idols no doubt have supernatural power, I have seen it myself – The power of attracting money.

No one can deny the fact that our motherland is the most enriched soil, when it comes to the “o(g)res of superstition”. The framers of our constitution in 1949 encrypted a very solid religion which was to be followed by one and all, known as “No Religion”. That means everyone is free to follow any religion they like.

In a country like India where an adult girl is not even considered ‘eligible’ enough to freely move around her compound (also read "What's Wrong with Indian Women? - Nothing") , freedom is merely a word, the roots of which can be seen dwindling only in stagnant water.

The problem is not with the thought behind atheism, but with the people who consider that this thought is not even worth considering. Atheism is considered as against the order of nature. An atheist is generally considered to be against God, and that’s where the problem arises. Atheists DO NOT have any quarrel with god, but with people who are so fondly in love with their almighty that they are unable to recognize their own master, and instead follow the dubious instructions of the elephantine bellied pundits, qazis etc. who reflect themselves as the ‘privileged  link’ between God and his creatures.

Different folks have different opinions, India is a diverse nation after all. Religion is one such topic which seems stuck at one point (somewhere back in time). Masses may have developed, but the practicality…..I’m not sure. The more you seem to penetrate into the topic the more you are hated.

Hatred ignites anger, and anger my friend, can do wonders! Bloodshed, Assassinations, Massacres are some of them. When a child is born he is not an atheist neither is he a theist but the practicality of the surroundings can very well compel an individual to deny the belief in superstition. Wars have been fought on the name of religion, but sadly it is the humanity who at the end loses. But if there is a God, atheism must seem to him as less of an insult than religion.

Probably because we have one less excuse to start wars.

It takes SOMETHING, to be that SOMEONE...

To be ‘a someone’, is actually not a bad place to be in. You can do things that you have never thought of doing, and even if you did not succeed, no one would care about your casualty. Probably, you have to keep trying until either: ·          You are good at it, or ·          You are just bored of it. ‘To do’ is to observe; ‘to observe’ is to understand and ‘to understand’ is to take one step ahead!               Keep moving until you reach a road with no footprints on it. You will surely think of making that U-turn… but No, you have to be positive. But, WHAT IF a wolf kills you ahead; WHAT IF a car hits you; WHAT IF you die! You could be that someone.                               So, keep moving until you reach a road with no footprints on ...

It is good to cry

Sometimes I wonder as to what is it that we really want? - Is it Money? - Or, is it Recognition? - Or, is it something more than that? We were told that howsoever bad situations may become, it will all end sometime, someday. Maybe it is just about to end, you never know!         Why are we working so hard? Why is it that you are reading this? Why is it that people love to hear from someone they admire? Why are we doing things? Everybody knows that they WILL die, then “why so serious”? Am I the only one who cares about my future and my ‘potential’ family, which I have no idea of at this juncture? It is fairly possible that humans were coded to be an ‘animal’ (like a dog) to their master. A human-dog that is capable of depicting sense and emotion and care for its future. Though, we successfully evolved (from a dog) into a human. But you know, a dog remains a dog! I think that humans, today, are still faithful to their respec...

You are the Change

John’s mother asks him as to where did he get his expensive shoes from? John had shoplifted that day. However, he tells her mother that a friend gifted him those. Mother somehow guessed that John has stolen the pair and tells him that she knows the truth and that he may fool the world but not himself… Nice story with a certain moral value. It is not John’s mother, but John himself who is being fooled, maybe not now but in his future endeavors. Why this story is important? ... Because I believe we all become John for one or the other thing in life, many a times. But what is worse is that most of us do not know that! Nichiren Daishonin , a form of Buddhist practice focuses on the law of action and it consequences. According to their belief, it is only our actions or in-actions that are responsible for the consequences in life and they believe in it with full heart and passion. However, one’s perception of an ideal future, that he wants to see in the world, is amazingly diffe...
